Borealis Region -- Fred Daniels

Well hey, another group! Saw someone's application for this and it honestly looks like a lot of fun! I'll update this when/if I get in.

edit: I got in!  Fred's celestially destined partner is a spearow.  Looks like I'll be getting some practice in drawing birds now!

Personality:

Full of energy, headstrong, and always thinking positive, Fred almost always acts first, thinks later, which can get him into some tricky situations sometimes.  Fred loves to explore, and is willing to try just about anything.  It doesn't take much to get him excited and he can act pretty childish in that respect, but don’t let him catch you complaining about family, especially parents, as he will promptly confront you about it.  Fred loves hearing about local legends, ancient ruins, and other old stories and his dream is to travel the Borealis Region and explore every site, ruin, everything.

 

History:

Fred isn’t exactly sure where he was born, but he’s lived in Mirak Village with his grandmother ever since his parents dropped him off there, never to return.  While the subject is a bit touchy, this has led him to have little tolerance for people badmouthing their own families.  His grandmother was an herbalist and raised him to learn the craft, teaching him all she knew.  As he got older, however, he lost interest in making natural medicine and found himself drawn more to the rainforest, often skipping out on his chores to go climb the trees and explore, despite how many times he was told not to.  He also became fascinated with stories of ancient times and found himself wanting to visit the places told about in the tales.  His grandmother realized that the boy’s passions didn’t lie with the art of making medicine and, with some reluctance, decided it was best to allow him to see the region and fulfill his dream.  So, she gave him some traveling money, and Fred went off to Situla town in hopes of receiving his first Pokémon from Prof. Larix, eager to explore the depths of the Borealis Region with his new partner.

    ·         Despite losing interest in it, Fred still knows quite a bit about making natural medicine from what his grandmother taught him.

    ·         Is quite the climber, and good at keeping his balance.

    ·         Likes to wear bandanna scarves, usually backwards.  They easily can be turned into a dust shield should he traverse the desert.  He usually wears a green one, but he has other colors too.

    ·         Likes to have his Pokémon wear bandanna scarves as well, so it can be easy to identify them.

    ·         Calls his team the “Secret Seekers”

    ·         His dislike for poison types comes from the fact that poison is one of the most common illnesses that need medical treatment and can be lethal.

    ·         Much like how he does everything, he usually will go into battles without a plan and make it up as he goes.

    ·         His grandmother worries that one day he will charge into an exploration and his lack of thought beforehand will lead to his demise.

Info: Much like his master, Jasper will often rush into things without thinking first, but he's very finicky about their needs so he will stop Fred if they are about to head off without something important such as food, water, rope, etc.  He wears a darker, green-cyan colored bandanna scarf on his neck.  He also has a bit darker red color on his wings and blue eyes.

Info: Echi is kind of an oddball.  He always does his own thing and has a blank expression most of the time.  Sometimes it can be hard to tell if he's actually paying attention to anything or just spacing out.  He does tend to catch little details no one else notices...  Somehow.  In any case, he'll follow along with what anyone friendly tells him.  His red scarf is in reserve until he evolves.

Info: Fred and Martin didn't exactly get off on the right foot when they met, what with Fred grabbing his hilt and swinging him around like an actual sword.  As a result he doesn't particularly like his trainer and inconveniences him by deliberately not doing what he says.  Once he's made his opinion about someone it takes a lot to change it.  And he's stubborn so it might be a while before he shows his trainer any respect.  He does have a soft spot for small children due to their innocence, and he'll get flustered and mildly irritated if anyone dares to point it out.  He has slightly lighter gold coloration and wears a dark magenta bandanna scarf on his hilt that Fred tied on him while he was sleeping.
